NS: Heritage Gas reaches new milestone


[HALIFAX, NS] — The use of natural gas continues to grow in Nova Scotia, with customer 4,000 signing up with Heritage Gas.

The milestone customers are Bruce Wood and Kim Campbell, residential home owners in the south end of Halifax, who recently welcomed natural gas into their home for the first time.

Heritage Gas, owned by AltaGas Utility Group Inc. (an indirect whollyand#8208;owned subsidiary of AltaGas Ltd.), serves customers through a pipeline system that connects Halifax, Dartmouth, Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Amherst, Bedford and the Town of Oxford. The company is currently working to deliver this cleaner energy resource to homes and businesses in and beyond these areas of the province. Since 2004, Heritage Gas has invested more than $200 million in over 300 kilometres of natural gas infrastructure to date.

“Heritage Gas is committed to getting as much natural gas to as many homes and businesses in Nova Scotia as we possibly can,” said Jim Bracken, company president. “In the last year alone, the number of Nova Scotia customers who have signed up for natural gas has gone up by 20 per cent, but we are determined to earn the business of thousands more.”
