NL: Company in search of potash in Newfoundland

[ST. JOHN'S, NL] — A company is exploring parts of western Newfoundland to find a big deposit of potash.

Red Moon Potash will be looking south of Stephenville in the Bay St. George area.

The company is a division of Vulcan Minerals, which owns about 60 per cent of the company.

President Patrick Laracy says a potash discovery was made in the area a couple of years ago.

Red Moon plans to spend more than five-million dollars over the next couple of years exploring that property.
