Appointments made to Newfoundland offshore board

The Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board has a new boss.

The governments of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada announced on Thursday that they have agreed on the appointment of Scott Tessier as the C-NLOPB's new chair and CEO.

Tessier most recently worked for Chevron, but he is also a former chief of staff to Loyola Hearn, a former provincial and federal politician.

Ed Williams, the brother of former N.L. premier Danny Williams, has been appointed as vice-chair of the offshore regulatory agency.
